Each morning when I arrive at work, I turn on the computer and head for the coffee pot. Like most work places, we come in and tell everyone we see “Good Morning”. We have our little chit-chat, and go on about the day’s business.

A few days ago, a co-worker came into the kitchen, and I could tell something wasn’t quite right, so I asked her if she was ok. She said she felt like there was a knot in her stomach, and she was a little nauseous. Like other workplaces, we have our share of viral bugs going around, so I assumed one had gotten a hold of her. Then she shared the real cause of her illness with me.

Her son and his girlfriend had their first child in December, just a few months ago, and they just found out she’s pregnant again. My co-worker’s son told her that he wants his girlfriend to have an abortion. You know the rhetoric. “We can’t afford another baby”, “I’m not ready for another baby”, etc.

My co-worker said she just stared at her son. “Who are you?” It was like a complete stranger was standing in front of her. It was devastating to her to hear her own flesh and blood, so willing to kill his own flesh and blood. She said she didn’t raise him that way, and was totally floored to hear him say that, so matter-of-factly. I don’t know how the pregnant girlfriend feels about abortion. What I do know, is that abortion hurts more people than just the couple involved.

That’s where we are in the world today. The mentality has spread, that an innocent baby, or fetus, or even an embryo, is disposable. Pro-choice will tell you that it’s “just a clump of cells”. A first year medical student on Twitter said exactly that one day last week. Her answer to another Pro-abort that questioned why Pro-Life uses late-term abortion videos in their messages. I warn you, the video is extremely graphic.

Yes, they call us “Anti’s”, as in Anti-Choice. I really can’t argue with that.

The truth is, I am anti-abortion.

The truth is, an embryo is never just “a clump of cells”. It’s one of God’s miracles, the miracle of life.

The truth is, awareness is the key, and we need your help to spread the word.

UPDATE: I am PROUD to annouce that the baby is safe!  The daddy got over his panic attack and came to his senses.. and btw.. the mom was very ANTI-abortion.. Grandma had a great big smile on her face today.  I’m so happy for all of them!

UPDATE:  It’s a BOY!!!   The baby arrived safely yesterday morning 10/12/10 at 12:02 am.  Grandma had a big smile on her face.  She said her son was beaming, and taking tons of pictures. I can only hope to get one!
